- To provide an understanding of what constitutes a safe and healthy work environment in Canada, and to explore the acts and regulations that human resource practitioners, supervisors and managers must adhere to
Outcomes:
- To explain the duties and responsibilities of the employer, penalties for non-compliance, and the Worker's Compensation Act
- Understanding of employers' legal obligations to protect and to advise employees of potential workplace hazards
- Ability to enforce safety measures, and to report and record workplace health and safety infractions
