Manitoba Arts And Cultural Management Certificate Program
The Manitoba Arts and Cultural Management Certificate Program is available to individuals currently working in, or trying to break into, Canada's arts and cultural sector. This program is designed to build the business and leadership skills necessary to manage and nurture creative activity in stable cultural organizations. Developed in cooperation with Manitoba's cultural sector leaders, the program is flexible, accessible and broad in scope.
Objectives:
- To build the business and leadership skills necessary to manage and nurture creative activity in cultural organizations
- To provide business and leadership training for the cultural sector workforce
Outcomes:
- Understanding of major business management principles and their interrelationships, especially concerning the arts and cultural sector
- Knowledge of key concepts regarding arts and cultural policy and leadership in Canada
- Effective oral and written communication, both interpersonal and team related
Articulation for Credit:
Graduates of the Manitoba Arts and Cultural Management Program may be eligible for equivalent course credits towards an undergraduate degree at The University of Winnipeg.

Arts and Cultural Industries Association of Manitoba (ACI)
Some of the courses offered through the Arts and Cultural Management Program may be offered to ACI members at a discounted tuition fee. In addition, ACI may assist you in finding financial assistance for courses you wish to take. For more information, call 204.927.2787.
Manitoba Arts Council/Winnipeg Arts Council
You may qualify for a course fee subsidy if you already work for a Manitoba cultural sector organization or are a practicing professional Manitoba/Winnipeg artist. Contact the Manitoba Arts Council: 204.945.2237 or the Winnipeg Arts Council: 204.943.7668.
Association Subsidies
Some national cultural sector associations provide subsidies to their members for professional development. Contact your organization's association to determine if you qualify for support.
MACMP AND THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO CENTRE FOR CULTURAL MANAGEMENT
The MACMP and The University of Waterloo Center for Cultural Management have established an agreement to provide online learning opportunities in cultural management for MACMP students. Please visit www.manageculture.com for more details on how you can apply for on-line learning courses to your MACMP Certificate.
Through www.manageculture.com, the cultural community can access professional development via a series of on-line courses. There are 25 courses in all, covering a wide range of topics that apply to all areas of arts and heritage.
