- To explain the legal framework of human resource management in Canada, and explore the various laws and legislations that human resource practitioners, supervisors, and managers must adhere to
Outcomes:
- Knowledge of federal employment law; provincial employment legislation; human rights legislation; employment standards legislation; employment and pay equity; Employment Insurance Act; Worker's Compensation Act; Workplace Health and Safety Act; and the Privacy Act
- Understanding of the legal aspects of employment contracts
- Understanding of relevant legal issues in the workplace, potential liabilities and when to seek legal assistance
