- legislation; employment and pay equity; Employment Insurance Act; Worker's Compensation Act; Workplace Health and Safety Act; and the Privacy Act
- Understanding of the legal aspects of employment contracts
- Understanding of relevant legal issues in the workplace, potential liabilities and when to seek legal assistance
