Dewey College Human Resource Management Diploma Program
The University of Winnipeg, in conjunction with Dewey College, offers this program to students who have successfully completed the Grade 12 program and earned the required numbers of credits, or have fulfilled other diploma requirements and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) from the Ontario Ministry of Education.
The Human Resource Management Program is designed to provide the skills required to manage the changing human resource function in the workplace. It combines essential business and communication skills with current human resource theory and practical human resource skills and techniques.
This program prepares students to continue in their studies in the Faculty of Business and Economics and earn a 3-year or 4-year Bachelor of Business and Economics Degree.

Transfer credit into the Faculty of Business and Economics
Graduates of the Human Resource Management Diploma Program may be eligible for up to 36 hours of equivalent course credits towards an undergraduate degree at The University of Winnipeg. Students must achieve a minimum of C+ to receive transfer of credit.
Required Courses
This course provides an overview of key events that comprise the
contextual history of labour-management relations, including how Western
countries achieved scientific, economic, cultural and political dominance
globally through innovation and free market capitalism. Participants will
also gain an understanding of the macro-economic impact of globalization
and the Knowledge economy. This course explores the legal framework of
Canadian society since the Industrial Revolution that defined the
legislation, principles and procedures of the modern workplace. Students
will gain an understanding of the roots of the unique contemporary
Canadian labour-management framework and gain practical knowledge in such
areas as human rights, performance management, misconduct and discipline
in the workplace.
