Case Studies and Issues in Public Relations - DPS 15354

As the capstone to Public Relations Fundamentals I and II, this class will ask students to apply the principles of PR to develop strategic communications plans for a wide range of public relations cases, and from a variety of perspectives.
Students will analyze contemporary public relations cases for their successes and failures and apply these lessons to real-time public relations issues emerging in the news. Through discussion and consensus building, students will work through these cases to create appropriate public relations strategies to influence public opinion responsibly and effectively. This course will culminate with students developing a comprehensive case study for presentation.
Classes will include overviews on basic public relations principles and techniques and in-depth examinations of factors contributing to public opinion.

Outcomes
