This course will teach the student how to create and edit web pages by hand, using the current industry standard of XHTML (eXtensible HyperText Markup Language) 1.0 Transitional markup.

Prerequisites

  • For Web Design Certificate students, Level 2: Web Design Principles or equivalent is the prerequisite for this course.
  • For Web Development Diploma students, Programming Technologies 1.1 and Unix Administrator Level 1 are prerequisites for this course.

Outcomes: 

  • Identify and edit older web pages that use deprecated HTML code
  • Create and edit new web pages using XHTML 1.0 Transitional markup
  • Identify and fix common markup syntax, logic and style problems
