The Photoshop course is covered in 30 hours of class time with many hours of bonus material that can be covered at home. It will provide students with a solid foundation in the basics of the Adobe Photoshop application, one of the most popular software applications for working with digital graphics. Students will discuss digital graphics in general, learn to navigate the program interface, use the numerous tools, and save files for display on the Web.

Prerequisites
- Computer and internet access at home
- The Photoshop software. The trial version is acceptable.
Outcomes:
- Understand the different digital graphic formats - bitmap versus vector graphics
- Work with the primary elements of the Photoshop interface - the Toolbox and Palettes
- Create and save Photoshop files
- Organize page content into layers and manipulate those layers
- Use Photoshop Rulers and Guides to position page content
- Develop a mockup layout for a Web site

Course Format
This course follows a lecture format. During class time, we will present material, draw your attention to key points that you should pay attention to, answer questions you may have, and manage class discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.
There are often daily quizzes or assignments. It is the responsibility of the student to be on time and to get copies of any assignments missed due to absence. Missed quizzes cannot be made up, unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor and IT coordinator.
Students are strongly advised to use the reference material. For every hour of class time the student should budget at least an hour of self study to cover all the material in this course.
Only material that is covered in class lectures will be testable.
