This is the basic introduction course for students to build the basis of what networking is and how computers and other devices communicate to other devices on the network.  The course focuses on wired environments, but also introduces wireless connectivity.

Prerequisites

  • General understanding of information technology

Objectives: 

  • To introduce networking theory

Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain Hardware components that make network communication possible
  • Manage the components of a simple network topology
  • Design a simple network topology
