This course provides an advanced depth of training in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, budgets, capital asset management, and evaluation in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

This course will assist individuals to:

  • Understand accounting and financial management concepts and terminology and the differences in non-profit and for-profit enterprises;
  • Conduct financial analysis and evaluate capital purchases;
  • Contribute to budgeting and financial reporting processes.

Objectives

To provide a solid foundation in basic accounting and financial management principles.

Outcomes

  • Understanding of basic accounting and financial management terms and principles
  • Ability to record and summarize business transactions, prepare and monitor budgets, and evaluate investments and financial performance
