Full-Time Programs

  • The Aboriginal Information Communications and Technology Diploma (AICTD) program will prepare individuals of Métis, First Nation, or Inuit descent to be successful in pursuing entry level positions within the Information Technology sector.  The program combines solid technical skills with the highly sought after business skills required to be a key member of any team.  The combination of both parts will make for a highly skilled and valuable individual ready to contribute on many facets and levels of an organization's needs.

    This program will focus on the academic preparation, communication skills business understanding, ability to work within various projects, and solid a technical know-how.

  • The full-time day Internet Systems Specialist Diploma provides a year-long exposure to a wide variety of Internet related technologies including front end client-side (XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, Photoshop), back-end programming and databases (PHP, Perl, ASP.net, Java, MySQL), as well as the topics that tie them all together (Linux, Windows, Apache, TCP/IP, security, and more). The course is capped off with a cumulative e-commerce project and a month-long work experience placement with one of many participating companies and businesses.

  • A year-long program that links proven marketing methodologies with the innovations of new media technologies and social networking platforms to expand consumer reach through fully integrated marketing strategies.

Part-Time Programs

  • Within all industries, businesses rely on information.  Quality, timeliness of data and complete analysis can positively or negatively impact mission-critical decisions.  The role of a Business Analyst is to bridge the gap between the business need identified in the strategic plan and available solutions.  The Analyst achieves this bridge by thoroughly analyzing the business needs and processes, then designing and testing a solution.  The national definition of a Business Analyst is “Business Analysts conduct research, develop and implement (information) systems development plans, policies and procedures, and provide advice on a wide range of (information) system issues.”

  • Robust and secure databases are a necessity in order to feed information and the related decision-making processes.  In this Diploma, students will learn to analyze data models, construct databases utilizing a variety of relational tools and administer them in order to find a balance between efficiently extracting data while providing a long-term scalable database infrastructure solution.

  • Demand for technical security and information assurance professionals has risen dramatically in recent years due to a variety of factors including changes to Canada’s privacy laws; the need to protect and certify data in light of increased attacks by worms; and electronic virus and spy-ware usage.

  • This course is aimed at individuals who want to host their own Web pages and need to have a thorough understanding of the “back end” technology and operating systems.

    Implementation, administration and hardening of systems will be covered from many perspectives, giving students knowledge of how to configure, support and enable the information to be displayed on the World Wide Web.

  • This Diploma provides a balanced training approach between network constructs and related security issues (i.e. Internet, application, network, etc.).

    Graduates gain in-depth knowledge of various protocols with special attention paid to TCP/IP, network standards and designs.

    Topics such as VoIP, IP Telephony and Firewall Technology are also covered with a focus on implementation, administration and security.

  • Bringing together the latest game technology, game design and game-based learning models the Serious Games Certificate delivers two streams of education:

    1) Educator Stream:  A set of theory and pedagogical courses designed to prepare educators to use and understand the new world of game-based learning, the re-purposing of games for use in education, and the nature, structure and elements of game play and game design.

With a focus on the front-end aesthetics, you will learn theory and hands-on skill on topics like graphics, markup, and client-side scripting.

  • Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scene that enables the Internet to work?

    Students working on this Diploma will learn about topics such as server side access, scripting and data access.  There is more to the Internet than utilizing it to display static information.
