Prerequisites
- Students must be admitted in to the Educational Assistant Diploma Program in order to take the NVCI course
Objectives:
- To introduce knowledge about non-violent crisis prevention/ intervention and control of disruptive behaviour
Outcomes:
- Knowledge about a comprehensive model for crisis intervention that includes recognizing early warning signals to safely manage physically violent individuals
- Knowledge about how to prevent violence and safely intervene when disruptive behaviour has intensified
- Knowledge about the significance of least-restrictive, least-harmful and least-physical intervention for prevention and control of disruptive behaviour
