Objectives

To introduce knowledge about non-violent crisis prevention/ intervention and control of disruptive behaviour

Outcomes

Knowledge about a comprehensive model for crisis intervention that includes recognizing early warning signals to safely manage physically violent individuals
Knowledge about how to prevent violence and safely intervene when disruptive behaviour has intensified
Knowledge about the significance of least-restrictive, least-harmful and least-physical intervention for prevention and control of disruptive behaviour

Prerequisites

Students must be admitted in to the Educational Assistant Diploma Program in order to take the NVCI course
